6  whole team communication  and strategies for improved defensive play

Playing Time

The seventh grade team carries twelve players.

Playing time on the field is earned through focus, effort,  hard work on basic skills and attendance at practice.  It is not an entitlement. Everyone on the roster bats in every game if eligible through grades, attendance and behavior.

OUR BASEBALL CODE OF BEHAVIOR

It is expected that all players and  parents will demonstrate good sportsmanship by playing with humility, maturity and respect towards the team, umpires and our opponents and their fans.  Inappropriate conduct will impact playing time.

Only players are allowed on the practice or game fields and in the team dugout.

Effort and Behavior In Practice

Poor behavior and effort in practice will result in  a warning with the first offense. A note will be given to the student which requires a  parent signature to play in the next game.  Continued poor behavior or effort will result in removal from the team and permanent replacement by someone who did not make the cut. Playing time is earned through hard work in practice.

Unexcused Absence From Practice

An unexcused absence from  practice will result in a player being unable to participate in the next game.  A DETENTION is an unexcused absence and will result in not playing in the next game. Failure to attend practice to participate in another sports activity is considered an unexcused absence.

Two unexcused absences from practice will result in removal from the team.
